Our story
The cedar has always meant something in this part of Ontario. It is a tree that outlasts the weather — straight-grained, quietly strong, and still standing long after lesser things have come down. It represents resilience, craftsmanship, and permanence. That is the standard we named ourselves after.
Black Cedar Homes is a London-based builder creating custom, semi-custom, and thoughtfully planned residential communities throughout southwestern Ontario. We build for the way people actually live — families who need room to grow, professionals who value quality without compromise, multi-generational households looking for flexibility, and homeowners who expect the details to be right the first time.
We are not the largest builder in the region, and that is intentional. We take on a limited number of homes so we can remain personally invested in every project. Our name is on every home we create, and we take that responsibility seriously.
What we build
Today we design and build custom homes and considered communities across London and southwestern Ontario. Every one is different, because every family is. But they share a spine: design that solves real problems, craftsmanship in the parts you’ll never see, and a build you can actually enjoy going through.
That’s the home we’d want for our own families. So it’s the only kind we build.
